MUSCAT

The capital and parts of the northern governorates are expected to have light to moderate showers, including thunderstorm and hailstorm, for four days from
Tuesday.

According to sources in the Met office, a trough of low pressure has developed and is moving towards the Sultanate coast from Saudi Arabia.

The National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre says the rain would be spread over four days.

There could be occasional thundershowers over the Musandam governorate initially and gradually extend to the Muscat, Buraimi, Dhahirah, North and South Al Batinah, Dakhiliyah and North and South Sharqiyah.

It would be accompanied by fresh downdraft winds, hail and flash floods. The sky would be partly cloudy over Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates with chance of isolated rain.

The sea state will be moderate to rough along the coastal areas of Musandam and Sea of Oman.
