His Majesty camel race cup gets under way

The final race of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said’s  Camel Race Cup was launched at Al Fulaij Camel Race Track on Monday.

The four-day race is the culmination of the annual festival of camel races for private stables for the 2016/17 season organised by the Royal Court Affairs and represented by the Royal Camel Corps.

The race contained 13 rounds for Al Hajaij Abkar and Al Hajaij Jadan for 4km, including 10 rounds games for the Al Hajaij Abkar category.

Heather, owned by Hamoud Bin Said Al Harthy won the first place in the first round for Al Hajaij Abkar; Heather, owned by Mattar Bin Ali Al Junaibi first in the second round; Jabbarah, owned by Nasser Bin Ali Al Derai, first in the third round; and Wilaya, owned by Hamad Bin Al Saghir Al Wihaibi, first in the fourth round.

Jalmoud, owned by Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al Junaibi, came first in the fifth round for Al Hajaij Jadan and ‘Malabi’, owned by Suhail Bin Hamad Al Wihaibi first in the eighth round and ‘Sarab’, owned by Nasser Bin Al Abd Al Wihaibi, first in the 11th round for same.

‘Bidiyah’, owned by Mohsen Bin Ali Al Wihaibi, came first in the sixth round for Al Hajaij Abkar; ‘Al Wasmiyah’, owned by Suhail Bin Hamad Al Wihaibi, first in the seventh round; ‘Nawadir’, owned by Soud Bin Ali Al Muharbi, first in the ninth round; ‘Salalah’, owned by Abdul Rahim Bin Zayed Al Junaibi, won first place in the 10th round.

‘Hidou’, owned by A’mir Bin Hamad Al Hashemi, came first in the 12th round and ‘Al Shaiybah’, owned by Saif Bin Abdullah Al Shafei, won first place in the 13th round for Al Hajaij Abkar.
