As many as 1,200 children between the ages of 8 and 14 participated in the Arabic Children’s Seminar held recently in Muscat.
The topics covered in the seminar were stress, abuses, and evils of smoking, drugs and misuse of Internet.
Organised by Fab Events, the event was supported by the Ministry of Education.
Fabs Events Financial Director Biju said: “Often we see that children show little respect towards their parents. While technology is a boon, young minds must be trained and guided on how to use it to their benefit.”
He added that “the excessive use of mobile phones and Internet makes it imperative for parents to caution children about the pitfalls of intensive social media usage.”
Another speaker Nadiya Al Balushi said: “Educators and parents alike are concerned about the future of their children, and events like this will help children to understand the importance of having clear-cut goals.”
