The Royal Oman Police (ROP) celebrated the opening of the Special Task Force (STF) headquarters in the Wilayat of Al Seeb and graduation of a new batch of police recruits.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of HE Sayyid Khalid Bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court.
Lieutenant General Hassan Bin Mohsin Al Shraiqi, Inspector-General of Police and Customs, and a number of officials, advisers, commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces corps, security forces, Sheikhs, dignitaries of the Wilayat of Al Seeb and ROP retirees attended the event.
The ROP Music Band performed the national anthem and graduation ceremony began with the march past of cadres.
The graduates chanted the ROP anthem (protectors of rights) and took the oath of allegiance and loyalty.
The ceremony ended after the military salute to the chief guest.
The Discipline Group at the ROP STF Command and ROP Cavalry Unit staged a performance.
Al Busaidi unveiled the commemorative plaque for the new building and distributed the prizes to the excelling graduates.
The STF headquarters comprises a security centre that is provided with 24/24 control room, a hall equipped with modern technologies, a meeting auditorium, modern offices, multi-use sports hall for training on self-defence and other skills.
The building has also a primary health clinic, a mosque, housing units for officers and personnel.
