The drive to attract investment from neighbouring countries is paying and according to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, so far 1,018 companies in the Gulf Co-operation Council have their branches in the Sultanate. The investment has cross 84.35 million rials.

Director of Trade Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Sayyeda Jumana Bint Said Al Busaidiyah said that Gulf companies were allowed to open branches in the Sultanate and they were treated just like local firms, giving them a level playing field.
She pointed out that the Sultanate took steps to provide all facilities to ensure that the Gulf investors got the best opportunities in the Sultanate. For this, necessary legislations to regulate and facilitate procedures had been issued.
The provision of this e-service through the portal was intended to make the doing of business easy in the Sultanate.
