The GCC Commercial Arbitration Centre with Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) in the Governorate of Dhofar will hold an annual commercial arbitration forum from August 15 to 17.
The forum will be held under the theme Judiciary and its Relation with Arbitration at the GCC states.
A number of arbitration experts and judges from the GCC states will take part in the forum, which will be opened by HE Sayyid Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar, in the presence of HE Issa Bin Hamad Al Azri, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Justice.
Abdullah Bin Salim Al Rowas, Head of OCCI branch in Dhofar, said that the forum provides the opportunity to share experiences and information in the field of judiciary and its relation with the commercial arbitration. He added that the forum highlights the role played by judiciary in arbitration in the GCC states.
The forum will discuss the procedures for providing licences for the dispute settlement organisations especially the arbitration centres at the GCC states.
