The number of visitors to Khareef Salalah since it began on June 21 reached 429,228 until August 8, according to a report from the National Centre for Statistics and Information.
About 12,740 visited in the seventh week from August 2 to 8.
This represents an 8.7 per cent rise compared to the same period in 2016, and a 15.7 per cent increase when compared to the sixth week of this year.
The visitors from Asia during the seventh week increased by 3.2 per cent to 2,159 compared to 2,093 in the sixth week.There was a 9 per cent increase in GCC visitors to 122,956 in the seventh week compared to 10,699.
Among the visitors from other Arab nations, there was a 14.6 per cent growth to 1,369 from 1,195, while the number of European visitors increased 46.9 per cent from 243 in the sixth week to 357 in the seventh week.
The visitors from other nations increased 19.9 per cent to 199 in the seventh week compared to 166 in the previous week.
The total number of visitors till the end of the seventh week who came by air increased 28.8 per cent this year to 97,650 compared to 75,837 in 2016.
Of this 48.4 per cent, or 74,238 arrived by domestic flights compared to 50,038 last year.
A total of 23,412 arrived by international flights compared to 25,799 in 2016, showing a decline by 9.3 per cent, and 331,578 visitors came by land compared to 374,171 in 2016.
Of the total number of visitors, 75.1 per cent were Omanis and showed a 3 per cent decline compared to the same period last year. Visitors from the GCC countries stood at 15.7 per cent of the total tourists.
