Voltamp Oman Transformer Company, a subsidiary of Voltamp Energy on Tuesday won two contracts worth 34 million rials from Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa).
In a filing on the MSM, the company said it will supply 4,900 transformers for the electric distribution grid in Qatar through its agent and representative in Qatar over the next two years.
“The contract confirms the commitment of Voltamp Energy Company and its subsidiaries to provide customers with high quality products with the latest technologies, which positively reflects the company’s reputation among the major competitive companies,” the company said in the filing.
They generators will be used for the power distribution network of Kahramaa, in order to supply electricity to infrastructure projects, industrial projects as well as for residential units across the country.
Voltamp Energy was picked through an earlier tender floated to four companies and at the end, the two contracts were awarded to the best company in terms of the technical specifications of contracts.
The company posted a net profit of 1.6 million rials in the first six months ended June 30, 2017 compared to 1.67 million rials in the corresponding
period last year, registering a decline of 4.3 per cent.
