Abstract feelings etched in acrylic

AN exhibition of 32 paintings by artist Amal Ezzat Soliman ‘Endless Abstract Feelings’ opened for public viewing at the French Omani Centre (Centre Franco Omanais) under the patronage of Ambassador of Egypt to the Sultanate HE Sabri Magdy Sabri and Charge d’Affaires at the French embassy HE Jean Paul Ghoneim on Tuesday.

A post-graduate in fine arts, this is Amal’s first solo exhibition in Oman. Earlier she has participated in a couple of group exhibitions. Back in Egypt too she has participated in several group exhibitions.

Talking about her art, Amal says the paintings that she has put up in this exhibition are all abstract impressionistic works mostly in acrylic. The collection also includes an assemblage also.

“I also like to paint murals and landscape. But usually the underlying motivating factor for me is to be able to express something related to me.”

Earlier, Amal taught fine arts for three years in Egypt as an assistant professor and would like to explore similar opportunities in Muscat.

The art expo will continue till September 28.
