Asaad returns home after Brunei visit

MUSCAT

Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan HH Sayyid Asaad Bin Tariq Al Said returned home from Brunei Darussalam after taking part on behalf of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said in the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkia’s Accession to the Throne on Sunday.

Asaad was received by Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs HE Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Salmi, Advisers of the State HE Sheikh Mohammed Bin Ahmed Al Harthy, HE Sheikh Saud Bin Sulaiman Al Nabhani, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat HE Sayyid Saud Bin Hilal Al Busaidi, and Secretary-General at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan Saif Bin Mohammed Al Abri.

Asaad was accompanied by an official delegation comprising Minister of Housing HE Sheikh Saif Bin Mohammed Al Shabibi, Sultanate’s Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam HE Sheikh Ahmed Bin Hashil Al Maskari, Advisers at the Office HE Khalifa Bin Hamad Al Badi and HE Saif Bin Ahmed Al Sawafi.

Sayyid Asaad was seen-off at Brunei International Airport by Minister of Religious Affairs, Inspector General of the Royal Brunei Police Force, Commander of the Brunei Armed Forces, various senior officials at the Brunei government, Sultanate’s ambassador to Brunei Darussalam and members of the Embassy. Prior to his departure, Asaad sent a cable to Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkia.

The cable reads as follow: “It gives me, and the accompanying  delegation, a pleasure while we are leaving your friendly country to express our utmost thanks and appreciation for the warm welcome and generous hospitality we received from the leadership, government and people during our participation on behalf of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, in your Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Accession to the Throne. We hail the deep and strong relations between the Sultanate and Brunei Darussalam, thanks to the support of the two leaderships.

We appeal to Allah the Almighty to grant you a permanent success to serve your people and country, perpetuate the blessings of good health and well-being on you and achieve further aspirations of progress and growth for the friendly people of Brunei under your leadership.”
