The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) is for the first time participating in the 12th Food and Hospitality Exhibition and Conference. The event will be held at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 16 to 18.
The ITA has just established its new promotional desk at the Embassy of Italy in Muscat. It is a government agency that promotes globalisation of Italian firms abroad.
Gianpaolo Bruno Italy’s Trade Commissioner to the UAE, Oman and Pakistan based in Dubai has said: “We strongly believe Oman is a very important market for Italian food products; and this is the reason why we intend to double our efforts and promotional investments to create win-win opportunities for economic cooperation between Italian and Omani companies.”
Italian foodstuff exports to Oman have registered a remarkable 33.5 per cent increase during the past one year, going from 10.9 million euros in 2015 to 14.5 million euros in 2016.
For this edition, the ITA stand will promote the excellence of EU certifications – the Protected Designation of Origin and the Protected Geographic Indication with the aim of increasing awareness and improving Italy’s genuine food brands into the Omani market.
