Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs HE Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Salmi held talks with President of the German Federal Parliament (Bundestag) Professor Norbert Lammert at his office on Wednesday.
Al Salmi reviewed the Sultanate’s role in enhancing values of tolerance and coexistence and explained that its role in this regard is obvious through its participation in the regional and international peace events. He highlighted the ‘Message of Islam from Oman’ Exhibitions, which contribute to enhance the culture of coexistence and understanding among cultures and nations.
Lammert hailed the Sultanate’s pioneering roles in this regard.
Separately, Lammert and his accompanying delegation visited Sultan Qaboos University (SQU). Vice-Chancellor of SQU HE Dr Ali Bin Saud Al Bimani along with senior officials of SQU met him at the University’s Cultural Centre.
Conversation touched on SQU’s partnerships with German higher educational and research institutions.
The delegation visited the Main Library and the Omani Studies Centre at SQU.
Lammert expressed his appreciation of the comprehensive achievements made by the University.
